Land Stewardship

We are seeking volunteers to assist us with land management projects. Give a donation of your time while you learn on-the-ground techniques for enhancing ecological communities by controlling invasive species and encouraging native species. Internships

Thank you for your interest in interning with Southeast Wisconsin Land Conservancy SEWLC. As a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural heritage of southeastern Wisconsin, we rely on the hard work and dedication of our interns to help us achieve our mission.

Internship Details

We have paid and unpaid internships, for both, we are happy to work with your academic institution to arrange for credit or to fulfill any required hours. Internship positions are available year round, can be fulfilled during Summer, or Spring/Fall Semesters.

Internship Opportunities

SEWLC offers a variety of internship opportunities for students and recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in conservation work. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage a diversity of perspectives in our internship program. However, the following qualifications and requirements are generally expected:

  • Strong interest in conservation and environmental issues
  • Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
  • Willingness to learn how to identify native and non-native plants
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Knowledge of social media platforms
